FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Understanding IEMT & Hypnotherapy
What is IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy)?
IEMT is a powerful therapeutic technique that uses specific eye movements to help release emotional baggage and shift unhelpful patterns of thought. It’s not about talking through your problems or reliving painful memories. Instead, we target how your mind processes emotions and memories, helping you detach from them more effectively. IEMT also integrates certain aspects of our personalities to experience more wholeness as a person. The focus hereby is on "how" you identify with the problem rather than "why".

How does IEMT differ from other therapies?
Unlike traditional talk therapy, which focuses on analyzing and discussing your feelings, IEMT works on a subconscious level to shift the emotional impact of past experiences. It’s fast, effective, and doesn’t require you to retell your trauma or dive deep into the details. Instead, we focus on changing how those memories feel, allowing you to move forward without being held back by emotional baggage.

Is IEMT similar to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)?
While both techniques use eye movements, IEMT is different from EMDR in its approach and goals. EMDR tends to focus on trauma and desensitization, whereas IEMT is more about addressing the patterns and identities that emerge from emotional experiences. It’s quicker and doesn’t require multiple sessions to process trauma or emotional issues. IEMT helps shift stuck emotional states and reframe memories in a very efficient way.

What kinds of issues can IEMT help with?
IEMT is great for dealing with a wide range of emotional issues, including anxiety, depression, self-doubt, low self-esteem, and trauma. It’s particularly effective for breaking out of emotional loops or recurring negative thought patterns. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unable to move past an issue, IEMT can help bring clarity and relief.

Do I need to go into a deep emotional state for IEMT to work?
Not at all! IEMT doesn’t require you to relive or fully engage with your emotions. In fact, the goal is the opposite—detachment. By working through specific movements and questioning techniques, I help you disconnect from the emotional charge of your memories. It’s a fast and subtle process, and you’ll remain calm and composed throughout.

How is IEMT different from hypnosis?
IEMT is an entirely different process. It doesn’t involve any form of trance or focused states of awareness like hypnosis does. It’s more about using your brain’s natural processes to alter how emotions and memories are stored. While hypnosis works on accessing deeper parts of the mind, IEMT focuses on reprogramming emotional responses without needing deep mental engagement.

Does IEMT “fix” me?
IEMT is a tool to help you shift the way your brain holds onto emotional patterns and memories. It doesn’t “fix” you, but it helps you gain freedom from the emotional weight that’s holding you back. As with any therapeutic technique, you are the one who makes the change happen- IEMT is just a way to guide that process more effectively.
What exactly is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is simply a focused state of mind where your attention is turned inward. It’s not about falling asleep or “zoning out”- you’re fully awake and aware. It’s more like being absorbed in a good book or movie, where your mind is highly focused and open to new insights. My approach works with this focused state to help you access your deeper thoughts and emotions, allowing real change to happen.

Is hypnosis like waving a magic wand that will solve my problems?
Absolutely not! Hypnosis is a tool, not a miracle cure. It helps you access deeper parts of your mind, but the transformation happens because you are doing the work. I guide you, but you’re in control.
Hypnosis isn’t a shortcut to bypass your own responsibility. It’s not about “fixing” you; it’s about helping you tap into your own inner resources to make the change you want. You are the one who makes it happen- hypnosis simply gives you better tools to work with.

Will you control my mind during hypnosis?
Nope! You’re fully aware and in control the entire time. Hypnosis is not about giving up control; it’s about using your mind more effectively. I’m here to guide you, but you’re in the driver’s seat. Think of it like working with a personal trainer- you have to lift the weights, but I’m there to show you how to do it correctly.
Hypnosis is a collaborative process. I can’t force you to change; you have to want it and be willing to take action. I’m here to help, but the real transformation comes from your commitment.

Is hypnosis the same as meditation or relaxation? And what is different with your method?
While traditional hypnosis might involve relaxation, my approach does not. I work with you in a non-trance state- there’s no deep relaxation or “drifting off.” Instead, we use focused techniques to address the patterns and beliefs holding you back. Unlike meditation, which often involves quieting the mind, hypnosis actively works with your thoughts to create change.

Meditation is usually about calming the mind and being present. It’s great for relaxation and self-awareness, but it doesn’t directly aim to change specific beliefs or behaviors. My hypnosis approach is much more targeted. We focus on specific issues- like self-doubt, fears, or emotional blocks- and work through them with precision. It’s not about passively observing thoughts, but actively reshaping them.

My approach is dynamic and collaborative, where you’re fully engaged in the process. We address the parts of you that are stuck, not by relaxing, but by helping you actively process and shift those mental patterns.

Change happens through awareness and intentional focus. By guiding you through a process that uncovers the underlying issues, we can reframe the way you experience and respond to them. There’s no magic or passive process- it’s about you taking control of your transformation with my guidance.
