In one way or another we all have experienced hypnosis in our live already, as for a state of trance is natural. In therapy and coaching, where a hypnotic state is induced to help the client to reach a change and goal, one can say in general:
almost everybody (ca. 90% of people) can be hypnotized. Around one third of the people has no difficulty to let go and to open up for hypnosis. Others need more time, patience and exercise.
An important requirement for the success of a hypnosis session is your motivation, willingness and cooperation. The more you are able to open yourself up and your attitude towards hypnosis and its possibilities is a positive one, the more effective can hypnosis be for you and activate real changes. Trust and openess between client and Hypnotist is also a necessary part of the foundation for a successful teamwork.
Hypnosis in psychotherapy and counselling is a useful tool to help effectively the clients' understanding of themselves, their past or their problems. Unfortunate habits, such as smoking, can be extinguished, undesired patterns of behavior can be modified. Through hypnosis experiences of anxiety, phobias and deep inner blockages can dissolve. If wanted, one could also uncover repressed memories, and once conscious, it becomes easier to let go of them. Hypnosis can also help with issues of low self-esteem, confidence and insecurities; or be of support to handle stressful situations of life.
